Good qualities of fair food

We come here periodically. We like the specials which typically feature seafood. We had a specialty pizza. It was very tasty but a little short on toppings. Could've used more cheese and less bubbles in the bread. Service was good. Be advised it's cash only.

Definitely a favorite with locals. I had only been there on one other occasion and loved it. I took a friend who was visiting here for a late lunch early dinner. She loved it as much as I did. The fried clams were light and not greasy, the Manhattan chowder was delicious, lots of clams, potatoes diced not chunks, and the clam fritters were equally as good. Wish it was closer to me, I'd visit more often! Bring cash or a check, they don't accept credit cards.

Great food!!! Great menu with much more than a Pizza shop

This place is an excellent family restaurant. Its sort of like a fish and chips stand but with more options and killer food. Two of us split the Tip the Scales combo with a side salad and had tons left. I especially like the haddock and shrimp. Not particularly inexpensive but great food and the best fried seafood I've had in a long time.

Wheelchair accessible. Onion rings, fries, and lobster roll warrant a top rating. Hamburgers were overly well done, when the order was for medium well. Not the friendliest staff but they deliver to the table and are attentive to customer requests. May come again.

Had no idea what to expect upon entering but extremely pleased with our choice. The food was plentiful and delicious! The Turkey club was amazing and could probably satisfy more than 1 healthy appetite. The clam chowder was creamy and stock full of clams. Can' t wait to go back and try some other of the many tempting offerings.

Great seafood! The prices are a little better than the competition around. Portions are generous and always tastes fresh. I've been going here for a while and have never been disappointed. They offer outdoor seating with umbrellas at each table. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and exceptional food! You can't go wrong :)

Food was good, my baked sweet potato was uncooked they went put of their way to make it right

I got a pastrami wheat wrap it was very good my husband got a meatball sub could of used a little bit more sauce otherwise good and we shared a side of potato skins which was very good.

At the moment you enter that place the personel give you a good feeling. Very congenial team, it is a kind restaurant to to go out with your friends or with your date. Great cooking, experienced chief cook and stuff, competitive price and nice service. Warmly recommended.

Got the baked haddock and lobster mac and cheese and onion rings and fries and squash it was very good highly recommend 😉😊

There are many of the same type food places in Millbury. More pizza places than one can imagine. Honestly, there are items on the Scales menu that I can buy a few miles down the road. However, not one place can compete. Not one. Scales has so much of a variety. From Italian cuisine, seafood to pizza and subs. Their veggie burger is what I would expect from a restaurant. Crispy, flavorful and filling. Not that flat, soggy mess you find at other places. I love this place, you will too.

Pretty good place i never knew about until someone gave me a gift card even tho I've been in the town for a year. It's pretty tucked away, nice little hidden gem. Their bread knots were killer. Staff was very friendly. I got a sea food dish and for the quantity I think it was fairly overpriced for the same thing at other places. Great atmosphere tho and it's BYOB. The place has been around since the 90s which I was somewhat surprised given its location so far away from everything and hidden.

Portions could be a little bigger to match the price.(My only reason for 4 stars and not five.)Food is fresh and cooked consistently well. The fish is lightly battered and not greasy at all. The fries are fresh cut .Personally I think they have the best milkshakes around too!. I recommend a fish and chips with a vanilla milkshake.

I have put Scales as one of my local favorites for one of the best " Buffalo Crispy Chicken Wraps" in the area, along with an impressive menu. Consistancy in food preparation with fresh quality ingredients is a recepi for success. Their restaurant is adorned with all sorts of scales from big stand alone floor models to counter type ones. Stop in check it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Okay this is the first time here, maybe the last. I went here because I heard the food was great. I went with my son, we ordered the fish + chips and coconut shrimp. First the fish + chips the fish was cooked perfectly but they left the skin on the fish (I worked around that) breading wasn't the greatest. Fries were good. The coconut shrimp wasn't bad, but it tasted like any coconut you get out of the freezer section of the grocery store. And at $15.99. I will go to grocery store. Cafeteria style ordering and remember to bring cash.

Scales has always been a favorite spot for seafood, especially fried clams. I went for my birthday lunch yesterday and I have to say, it was the best experience yet in over 8 years. EVERYTHING we ordered was perfection; fresh and delicious. Their expanded menu over the last several years has only enhanced the enjoyment of this restaurant. Good job guys. Keep it up !!!

Service was a little frosty at first but like New England warmed up eventually ...Atmosphere casual , which I liked . We had clam chowder , lobster bisque both of which were creamy and delicious (and very hot) Potato skins which were the best I think I’ve ever had with real bacon and plenty of cheese. Dinners (which we were almost too full to eat at that point :) Were fish and chips and clam strip dinner. Perfect ! Huge portions and French fries were homemade. $42 for all that which was worth it for the high quality of the food..as good as what you’d get by the ocean . Only 4 stars because of less than friendly at first service. Needed to box up a lot of food at end , will come again and recommend to others

Clams were excellent! I live in California and do not have full belly clams. Every year I visit family in Douglas, MA. We always visit Scales a couple of times during my visit, so that I'm able to get my clams. Scales always serves a healthy portion of delicious fulll belly clams. Yum!

The charm of Scales is undeniable. That being said, my meal tonight was okay. The rice was some odd mix that I was unimpressed by. I had baked haddock which was fine but not spectacular. I've had a lot of meals here so I was surprised that this didn't measure up to the price.

Had their flavorful, creamy rich clam chowder. Lots of solid ingredients in this recipe. Yummy!

Never got to try the food. The service was nice but only accepts cash and credit and the atm was out of order

Place was good i was thrown off by the portion size of the baked scallops but when all was said and done I was full and satisfied. The onion rings and popcorn shrimp were mediocre (onion rings were very greasy)only reason I'm not giving 5 stars. Will definitely return to try the fish next time

Very important to know it's cash only before you order. ATM was not working on site. Extra trip to the bank later and the food had gone cold instead. Led to a rather subpar meal and overall experience unfortunately.

Food was delicious, and the way that its set up is fun. Order at the window and the fios is brought out to your table. Tables are mismatched and scales line the walls. Very fun and eclectic atmosphere.

Great fish and chips and fried chicken. My son enjoyed his pizza and my mom loves the lobster rolls. My love both the salmon and haddock dishes and can't wait for return visits. They also do take out!!
